German Pre-Dreadnought Battleship

I finally finished my 'cartoon' model of a German pre-dreadnought battleship. It is supposed to represent the Schleswig-Holstein, one of the pre-dreadnought battleships that the Germans were allowed to keep after World War I.
I painted her in all over light grey, and I think that it looks quite effective and 'right' for the period.

  1. Hi Bob,

Wow! She really looks the part! The turrets look far better in the different configuration of shape and size. Really nice looking model Bob.

    All the best,

  2. That is awesome. Cartoony is good. One of the first painting styles I learned was to make the figures cartoony, so the effects were visible at arms length.

  5. That's quite spectacular! I tried to grok the scale by the traditional green cutting mat, but failed. Please to tell me the size of her?

    Cheers

  6. Foss1066 (Thomas),

The model is 8"/20cm long ... and does not look out of place alongside 15mm-scale figures.

    All the best,

    Bob
